FEED 5000
R.U.4 Children has a groundbreaking ministry called FEED 5000. This new and exciting project seeks to FEED, Evangelize, and Connect the vast orphaned population of a country to local ministries and churches. Using our existing relationships and support on the ground, allows us to minister to thousands of orphans, street kids, widows and broken families. At the FEED 5000 event local volunteers connect with orphans at a central community location. While community leaders and volunteers are feeding and loving on the orphans, local pastors share the Gospel and allow the orphaned a chance to accept Christ.
The FEED 5000 project has seen huge success in cities all across Ukraine and Guatemala. In Ukraine we partnered with churches and NGO (non-profits) to achieve the greatest impact on orphans. In the winter of 2008, we were prompted to FEED 5000 orphans; God exceeded our vision, and fed over 6000.
Our most recent Feed 5000 success took place in Peronia, Guatemala on Oct 1, 2009. Our original intent was to FEED only orphans, widows and street children. However, there was such a need in this community that God prompted our hearts to FEED the entire town. With the help of local church partnerships we handed out 3000 bags of food. Each bag weighed 40 lbs and was complete with enough food staples to FEED a family of 5 for over two weeks. That meant that in one night we were able to touch 15000 people with food. Not only were the people of Peronia given food, but many of them came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. To ensure follow up for the people of Peronia, our church partnerships have answered the call of discipleship and promise to be a viable part of the community for years to come. Without the lord this amazing success would not be possible!
Orphan Evangelism
Our intention is to connect each child to the Lord through the local Church. We are able to accomplish the mission of R.U.4 Children through indigenous leaders and churches, because of their own passion to serve the fatherless. For more info, email
